Hey - been a while, so here are some quick updates.

The Sonoma Valley Film Festival. Loads of fun. Lots of wine and cheese. Developed a completely useless taste for expensive wine. At least I can probably afford cheese. But that can get sorta pricey, too. Beautiful countryside. I would love to live there some day. The screening, though sparsely attended due to a very early weekend time slot, went very well - great audience response.

Another interesting thing that happened: my first sale as a writer. My sometime co-writer Stephen Falk and I wrote a comedy, "Time Travel For Dummies", back in the summer of 2001. It made the rounds and didn't sell, and eventually we had to write it off as a script we love that would never see the light of day. Well, someone must have gone back in time and stepped on a butterfly, because in April it sold to Summit Entertainment. I got my first announcement in Variety, and some day will get my first paycheck, hopefully before 2005.

The Thailand deal fell through for "Buttleman" because of sound work we still need to do. น่าเศร้าโศกเช่นนั้นเพื่อนไทยของฉัน! But the good news is that my sales agent is trying to sneak us in on a big sound mixing session with another film, so we may get the necessary work (final mix and seperate tracks for foreign sales) for free. We are just starting to get offers for domestic deals, which we are considering...

And, as I said, I'm working on a new script. A horror movie, which I'm planning to shoot on a shoestring budget before the end of the year.

That's it for now - I'm also back at work and need to do something accounting-like.
